About The Role!
The First-Mile Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end daily pickup operations, ensuring timely stock collection while optimizing cost, capacity, and performance. The role oversees fleet and driver management, route planning, and real-time operational adjustments to meet SLAs and volume demands. It also focuses on cost control, coordination with inbound teams and merchants, accurate documentation, and performance tracking through defined KPIs. The ideal candidate combines strong operational planning, analytical skills, and a high level of ownership to drive efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement in first-mile logistics.

Job Responsbilities
- Daily Pickup Operations:
- Own end-to-end execution of daily stock pickup schedules.
- Plan routes, vehicle allocation, and pickup sequencing based on volume, SLAs, and locations.
- Ensure pickups are completed within agreed time windows.
- Manage real-time adjustments for delays, no-shows, or volume fluctuations.
- Manage drivers and vehicles
- Track driver attendance, utilization, and productivity.
- Ensure vehicle readiness, safety, and compliance.
- Support driver onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Own first-mile cost control, including transport, fuel, maintenance, and 3PL costs.
- Track cost per pickup, cost per unit, and cost vs budget on a monthly basis.
- Optimize routing, vehicle utilization, and vendor selection to reduce costs.
- Prevent unnecessary trips, idle capacity, and cost leakage.
- Align pickup capacity and schedules with Inbound operations to avoid congestion.
- Coordinate with Account Management and Merchants on pickup readiness and volumes.
- Ensure smooth and documented handover of stock to inbound teams.
- Ensure accurate pickup manifests and system updates.
- Track and resolve pickup discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Maintain clear audit trails for pickups and handovers.
- Track and report KPIs:
- On-time pickup rate
- Pickup SLA adherence
- Cost per pickup / unit
- Capacity utilization %
- Failed or rescheduled pickups
- Provide weekly and monthly performance and cost reports.
- Enforce loading, transport, and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures.

Job Requirement
- 4–6 years of experience in fleet, transport, or logistics operations.
- Proven experience in first-mile logistics and pickup operations.
- Strong experience in capacity planning and cost control.
- Ability to work with volume forecasts, budgets, and performance data.
