About the Job
As a Last Mile Senior Manager, you will oversee last-mile operations through a team of Area Managers,
ensuring smooth, efficient, and customer-focused delivery operations. You will set performance
standards, monitor results, and drive improvements across your region while fostering a culture of
accountability and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and coach a team of Area Managers, ensuring optimal performance across multiple shipping hubs in your assigned region.
- Oversee hub operations indirectly through Area Managers, ensuring adherence to company standards, operational KPIs, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across last-mile delivery operations.
- Review and analyze performance dashboards and reports from Area Managers to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Set performance targets and hold Area Managers accountable for meeting service-level agreements (SLA) and operational objectives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Customer Support, Commercial, Finance, Tech) to ensure smooth coordination and resolution of hub-related issues.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in line with company strategy, including automation, process optimization, and cost efficiency.
- Act as the escalation point for critical operational issues that Area Managers cannot resolve.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and hub documentation standards across all locations.
- Drive a culture of accountability, customer focus, and operational excellence within the last-mile function.
- Prepare and deliver weekly/monthly reports on performance, challenges, and improvement plans to the Operations Director/Head of Logistics.
Qualification
- 10+ years of experience in logistics, last-mile delivery, or e-commerce operations.
- Proven track record in equivalent roles and delivering results in a fast-paced logistics or shipping environment.
- Strong knowledge of last-mile operations, hub management, and delivery SLA optimization.
- Excellent leadership, people management, and coaching skills, with experience managing large, diverse teams.
- Data-driven with strong analytical and reporting skills; able to interpret KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
- Strategic mindset with hands-on problem-solving ability.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to perform under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and adaptable leader with a focus on delivering excellence in customer experience.
