The Position

Description

We’re looking for a reliable and customer-focused Shop Associate to join our team at the MoShop in CBD. As the first point of contact for walk-in customers, you’ll be responsible for guiding new buyers, processing in-store and agent-referred sales, verifying customer legitimacy, and ensuring smooth daily operations at the shop.


Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist walk-in customers with inquiries and product information

  • Process both walk-in purchases and sales submitted by field agents

  • Verify documents and screen applicants to prevent fraud and ensure credit compliance

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting shop environment at all times

  • Track and report any operational or customer issues proactively

  • Suggest and support improvements to shop workflows and customer experience

  • Work cooperatively with teammates on a shift-based schedule


Requirements

  • 1+ year experience in a retail, telco, fintech, or customer-facing role

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • High integrity and attention to detail when handling sales and verifying identities

  • Comfortable using basic tech tools (spreadsheets, mobile apps)

  • Passion for delivering great customer service

  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili

  • Experience working in a fast-paced or startup environment is a plus
